Job Title: Engineering Project Manager
Salary: £40-50k (depending on skills and experience)

What will you be doing
Working under the direction of the Direct Delivery Senior Delivery Manager, the role will be part of the newly developed Direct Delivery inhouse Capital Delivery team. Driving efficiency as the intelligent client that our client needs to be able to achieve its AMP7 goals and beyond.
Act as the Engineering Project Manager responsible for the design & build of Wastewater and Water Process Projects in accordance with project delivery procedures. For projects ranging in complexity between £100k to £3m in value managed directly by the team.
Acting as the Project lead from conception to handover in relation to planned projects or urgent/emergency works. Being able to come up with robust and safe concepts and/or solutions is a key requirement for this position.
Take a lead role in the planning and delivery of design & build activities.
Accountable for developing the projects and documentation for submission through the Governance process to achieve the correct funding to deliver the project as required by the internal stakeholders/client.
Work with the team to achieve the time and cost targets.
Work with and manage indirectly a wider team of multi-function Engineers, Environmental, Construction, and Commercial Assurance support.
Act as the key contact to support the role of CDM Designer or Principal Designer, particularly for projects where the inhouse engineers undertake the design.
Be competent in risk management, including risk identification, mitigation, and control. Being able to de-risk and add value during the outline design stage is a key requirement for this position.
Provide Project Assurance during the delivery, commissioning, and handover of Assets.
Capable of working on several projects and managing the works awarded to Internal stakeholders, framework suppliers/contractors, and external consultants.
Key accountabilities for the role include:
-Coaching and mentoring others to ensure continuous improvement
-Assessment of Project Briefs and associated technical information and solutions, to support risk mitigation to maximise value before pricing by a delivery contractor
-Management of multi-disciplinary project teams’ activities per project delivery procedures.
-Management of the delivery of design & Build activities to time, cost, and quality through planning and forecasting resource requirements
-Checking and review of team outputs
-Coaching and mentoring others to ensure continuous improvement
What are we looking for
-Degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline
-Experience in Water and or Waste Water production/Process is ideal along with a good working knowledge of end-to-end project delivery processes
-Extensive experience in the field of water and/or wastewater process design, and technical and construction assurance
-A focus on supporting and implementing continuous improvement
-Good communication skills
-Experience in managing project teams and accountability for project delivery
-Fully competent at using the appropriate company IT systems and Office software
