A leading engineering consultancy with a strong presence across Ireland is currently seeking a Project Controls Lead to join its Transportation team. This role is based in Dublin with hybrid working available.

Summary

As Project Controls Lead, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of project controls systems and processes across complex infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project managers, planners, cost engineers, and stakeholders to ensure robust planning, cost control, risk management, and reporting.

Your Role

  • Lead the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules and cost plans.

  • Oversee performance measurement, forecasting, and reporting across all project phases.

  • Produce progress reports, KPIs, and dashboards for clients and leadership teams.

  • Implement and manage earned value management (EVM) systems and tools.

  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities.

  • Manage change control processes and ensure compliance with governance standards.

  • Ensure alignment with client requirements and governance frameworks.

  • Provide strategic insight and recommendations to support decision-making.

About You

  • Proven experience in cost control, planning, and schedule management.

  • Relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

  • Basic understanding of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.

  • Familiarity with Irish forms of contract such as GCC and FIDIC.

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, or large scale construction projects.

  • Rail experience is desirable but not essential.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
