£45,000-£65,000 (permanent) / circa £70 per hour (contract)

About the Role:
Our client is recruiting for a Senior/Principal Urban Drainage Modeller to join their Water team. This opportunity can be based from multiple UK offices and offers flexible working, with a hybrid split (typically a minimum of 3 days per week in the office).
You will play a key role delivering a programme of urban drainage and wastewater modelling work, taking responsibility for technical delivery, programme and cost management, and supporting the development of junior team members through mentoring and guidance.
Projects include feasibility studies, integrated catchment modelling, model build and verification, surface water management plans, and development impact assessments. The role offers the chance to work on varied programmes across both public and private sector clients.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience. No sponsorship is available for this role.
About the client:
Our client is a leading European design, engineering, environment and regulatory consultancy, delivering major programmes and projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver modelling projects to agreed deliverables, key milestones, methodology, QA and QC standards
Lead technical delivery and manage cost and programme
Engage directly with client technical teams
Build and verify integrated catchment models using InfoWorks ICM
Deliver wastewater and urban drainage modelling outputs
Produce feasibility studies, surface water management plans, and development impact assessments
Provide technical guidance, support and mentoring to junior modellers
Support the improvement of modelling processes and development of tools
Contribute to a collaborative team culture and knowledge sharing
What Our Client is Looking For:
Strong wastewater modelling experience (essential)
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
Experience building and verifying integrated catchment models and/or solution development using InfoWorks ICM
InfoWorks ICM hydraulic modelling experience is essential
GIS experience (e.g., ArcGIS or MapInfo)
Happy supporting in leading and mentoring junior team members
Experience acting as technical discipline lead and managing projects (advantageous)
Experience managing modelling teams from a commercial/financial perspective (beneficial)
Principal level: Chartered (ICE, CIWEM or similar) or close to achieving chartered status
