What does the role involve?

You will also work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers and other disciplines colleagues from across the wider Water Business Unit in the UK to deliver projects by:

* Managing technical and commercial delivery of projects and bids and ensuring they are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.

* Ensuring design output is completed in accordance with the agreed scope of works, timescales and budgets.

* Managing change.

* Working in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required to deliver project requirements and added value to the Client.

To be successful in this role you’ll possess:

* A degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

* A recognised project management qualification.

* Knowledge and experience of MEICA design or Civil design for the water industry.

* The ability to work with engineers from all disciplines and other industry professionals to optimise and develop bespoke and innovative designs.

* Experience in the delivery of water designs and specifications on water related projects for Water Companies, Contractors and industry.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The role of the Assistant Project Planner is to assist with the preparation and maintenance of integrated and co-ordinated project programmes, enabling resource and material requirements to be forward planned to meet project deliverables, using P6 Project Planning software.

My client has embarked on a £123m project to build a reservoir at Havant Thicket. This environmentally led project will safeguard future water supplies and provide a place of natural beauty for the community to enjoy. The reservoir will provide wetland habitats, paths for walking, cycling, running and horse-riding, and a visitors’ centre providing a café and educational resources for schools. The project will be mainly delivered through a main reservoir contract and two pipeline contracts, with some additional related contracts.

My client is looking for two NEC supervisors, one to focus on the reservoir contract, the other on the pipeline contracts, with some flexibility in providing support across the programme as a whole. The successful candidate will need to uphold theirr values of excellence, integrity and respect.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Ensure that the project is delivered in accordance with the technical specification
  • Develop a full understanding of the project scope, accessing the project common data environment to obtain construction details and other information necessary to perform the role
  • Provide guidance in the development of testing and inspect plans needed to comply with the Works Information, quality standards and applicable construction legislation

The role

You will act as the main interface (alongside an experience Structures DSR) between the contractor and the design team. You will:

  • Ensure construction is fully compliant with the design and specifications

  • Raise and respond to any technical queries, RFI’s etc.

Role

You will have previous experience working in a similar role within programmes from a track aspect. This role would suit an existing CRE or DPE.

  • Ensure the track engineering on allocated company contracts are technically compliant with the relevant Group, client & company standards.
  • Act as the p-way engineering technical contact and liaison with clients and sub-contractors in order to resolve technical issues.
  • Prepare Invitation to Tender documentation for track Engineering Sub-contracts.
  • Ensure integration of design, installation and testing and that the end product meets the client specification and has technical integrity.
  • Carry out project risk assessments. Assist the Tendering department in the preparation of Tenders. Act as the track CRE on contracts as required by the Project Director.

Essential requirements:

  • Be a chartered civils engineer (MICE) or working towards it.
  • Have five years relevant experience.
  • Will need to have current or past CRE status or proven evidence of being appointed to act as CRE for a period of time.

Desirable:
